-When: Friday June 20th
-Where: The Clock Tower
-Who: For Adults Only
Option 1: Mountain Biking
- For those that want to mountain bike (guys or girls), we will be meeting at the clock tower at Noon for a mix of lift assisted riding and lower mountain trails.
- We will ride until about 3:30PM. For those that want to ride earlier, the lift opens at 11AM.
- At 3:30PM we will meet at The Crows Bench restaurant outside for drinks/food to go at your own expense. The marketplace will also be open until 5PM which has snacks and drinks for purchase. The hiker's group will meet us there as well at this time.
- From there we will go to the roof top hot tub/game room or pool/spa area, whichever is less busy.
- Those that I know are joining are experienced riders. This is not an activity for those who do not do not ride regularly. There will be steep descends, jumps, and drops.
- For those out-of-town renting bikes, the shop opens at 11AM. There are limited number of bikes in each size, first come first serve, so make sure you show up early.
- Also, for those without a pass, purchase your lift tickets ahead of time at 11:30, as wavers have to be filled out and there could be a line. This way we can hit the lift right at noon.
Option 2: Hiking
- For those that want to hike (guys or girls), meet at the clock tower at 2PM.
- The hike route will be an easier one up the logging road to The Rowdy Grouse (A bar that is only open in the winter, but a good viewpoint), about 1.5 miles with a mild grade.
- After the hike we will meet up with the other group outside the Crows Bench for drinks/food to go at your own expense. The marketplace will also be open until 5PM which has snacks and drinks for purchase.
- From there we will all head to the rooftop hot tub/game room or the pool/spa area, whichever is less busy.
Olga and Kolbe will stay until about 5:30/6PM, at which time we have to head to a rehearsal dinner for immediate family. Others are welcome to continue hanging out having a good time.
Considerations:
- The mosquitoes can be bad at times, depends on the year. Highly recommended to bring bug spray.
- My personal favorite is Murphys, all natural and works amazing. We have used it at Mt Rainer, Selkirks, Cascades, Banff, and more; never getting a single bite. Amazon.com: Murphy's Naturals Mosquito & Tick Bug Repellent Spray, Father's Day Gift for Dad, Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus for Skin + Outdoor Gear, DEET-Free, 4oz Pump, 2-Pack : Health & Household
- If you are mountain biking I HIGHLY recommend a tubeless setup, this is the Canadian Rockies. It sucks to walk your bike down 2000ft of vert. At a minimum you will need multiple extra tubes and a CO2 cartridge.
- If you want to spend time with kids in the village, there is an activity pass (or you can purchase activies individually). The pass includes scenic chairlift ride, trampolines, wall climbing, zipline, and mining in a sluice box. More information here: Ultimate Fun Pass | Schweitzer.
